Welcome to the Delta Lambda Chapter Website. This site provides members of Delta Lambda Chapter current and updated information about the chapter and the Society. It also offers prospective members and members of the community the opportunity to learn about one of approximately 175 Delta Kappa Gamma chapters in the State of California and one out of approximately 2500 chapters of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
Delta Lambda Chapter is geographically located in Monterey County. There are currently 90 members in the chapter. The membership is comprised of teachers, counselors, librarians, administrators, school Board members, and others who work with children in Monterey County. Membership is by invitation only and considered a prestigious honor with a variety of benefits and privileges. Members include active and retired educators. Delta Lambda members support projects on the community, state, and international levels related to the mission and seven purposes of the international organization.
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (DKG) is the largest organization of key women educators in the world. The California State Organization (Chi) is one of 50 state organizations in the United States with a membership of approximately 82,000 members in 17 member countries.

Purposes
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International has seven basic purposes that govern its program of work and study. The activities of each level of the Society implement the purposes of the Society. The seven purposes include
1. To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship
2. To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education
3. To advance the professional interest and position of women in education
4. To initiate, endorse and support desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interests of education and of women educators
5. To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to non-member women educators
6. To stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action
7. To inform the members of current economic, social, political and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society.
